Phenomenal Swag: Shepard Fairey’s Jordan print
September 10, 2009
Trey Kerby of The Blowtorch searches high and low across the Internet for NBA-related goods you never knew you needed. You know, phenomenal swag. Email Ball Don’t Lie any relevant products you find here.
Michael Jordan Week, y’all!
He’s going in to the Hall of Fame on Friday, as you may have heard. If not, let me be the first to tell you, he’s going in to the Hall of Fame on Friday. Since he’s a pretty big deal, everybody and Chris Whitney are doing what they can to honor the G.O.A.T. The latest: this Obey Michael Jordan print from Shepard Fairey.
This print depicts MJ wearing some Jordan Vs and making (possibly) Jeff Malone lean back like he’s in the Terror Squad. It’s the first in what is rumored to be a series of similar posters in Fairey’s oft-imitated style. You might remember Shepard from his Obama "Hope" posters, or his myriad Andre the Giant prints, but mostly the "Hope" posters. For now, there’s no release dates, but I guarantee the Internet will let you know as soon as they’re available.
And while we’re talking about Michael Jordan (all the time), I’d feel terrible if I didn’t mention that Comcast Sports Net in the Chicagoland Area (and maybe in other markets too) is showing 23 hours of Jordan highlights and games, starting tonight at 8 p.m. ET. So check that out, and stay tuned to Phenomenal Swag — the Internet clearinghouse of Michael Jordan memorabilia!
