Phenomenal Swag: EA Sports ‘NBA Live 2010′ mixtape
October 13, 2009
Trey Kerby of The Blowtorch searches high and low across the Internet for NBA-related goods you never knew you needed. You know, phenomenal swag. Email Ball Don’t Lie any relevant products you find here.
Ever since the 2K series debuted, the NBA Live video game franchise has become your older brother who seemed really cool in high school but now listens to intentionally obtuse music, making you question why you thought they were cool in the first place. But then, after a few years, you kinda "get" what they’re listening to, and you realize that you’re really over-thinking this whole metaphor.
Nonetheless, NBA Live is releasing a mixtape based on this year’s game.
The tracks range from rap youngsters 88-Keys ("Wake Up Call"), B.o.B. ("Champion") and Mickey Factz ("Mind Got Blown") to old-schoolers like Afrika Bambaataa ("Zulu!"), Pete Rock ("When I Need It") and 37-year-old Snoop Dogg ("Lodi Dodi 2010"). Be warned, these are songs that have been discarded from both actual releases and artist mixtapes, so you’re not getting Ready to Die here. But hey, it’s free. You can’t beat that.
