Free agent guard Arroyo returns to NBA, signs with Heat

MIAMI (AP) — The Miami Heat have announced signing free agent guard Carlos Arroyo (FSY).

Terms of the deal were not disclosed in Monday’s announcement.

Arroyo, a seven-year NBA veteran, spent last season in Israel playing for Maccabi Tel Aviv. He appeared in 28 games, averaging 15.3 points, 5.8 assists and 3.7 rebounds.

The 30-year-old Arroyo most recently played in the NBA for Orlando. He appeared in 161 games with the Magic from 2005-08.

The 6-foot-2 guard has played in a total of 433 NBA regular season games with Toronto, Denver, Utah, Detroit and the Magic. For his career, he has averaged 7.0 points, 3.3 assists and 1.7 rebounds in 18.2 minutes.

Arroyo, a member of the Puerto Rican national team that defeated the USA in the 2004 Olympics, played at Florida International University.
