Convince friends you won the 2005 Zurich Classic with this watch
September 17, 2009
Want to get the benefits of winning a PGA Tour event without all the messiness of devoting your entire life, body and soul, to the relentless pursuit of a goal which you, in all likelihood, will never achieve?
Friends, have we got a deal for you — a way to make everybody think you won the 2005 Zurich Classic of New Orleans! After all, do you remember who won that event? Here, I’ll give you five guesses, and no fair looking it up. Go.
Wrong. Wrong. Wrong. Wrong. Wrong. Answer below, but first: the goods!
Thanks to reader buzburbank, we bring you this wonderful ebay auction: an Omega Watch that was the gift given to the winner of the 2005 Zurich Classic. (It was Tim Petrovic, for those few of you who couldn’t get it.) I don’t know why Mr. Petrovic didn’t want this watch, but his disregard is your gain! (Also St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, which gets 10 percent of the proceeds of the auction.)
Now, this is the deal — you’re going to have to come up with at least ten grand in the next three days in order to get this watch. (Just like the time you bet that sure thing when you were gambling on the ponies, right?) Anyway, should you decide to purchase this item, you’ll get all kinds of certificates of authenticity and the glory that comes from getting a winners’ watch. Have at it!
